A firsthand visual reporting network for the Toe River watershed
Registered participants submit current observations and photos from established reporting locations throughout the watershed. Reports can include observed river level, water clarity, recent rain, river trend, comments, and photographs.
Toe River Watch is operated by Toe River Base Camp in Bakersville, North Carolina.
Official data stays identifiable
National Weather Service forecast information and available U.S. Geological Survey stream-gauge data may appear as additional context. Official-source links remain visible so visitors can go directly to those sources.
Transparent estimates
Toe River Watch status cards may combine available community, weather, and gauge inputs. The active source weights are displayed and adjust when a source is unavailable.
What Toe River Watch is not
Toe River Watch is not a government warning or safety service.
Community reports are not water-quality tests, official stream-gauge measurements, flood warnings, or determinations that a river is safe for recreation. Toe River Watch estimates are informational. During hazardous weather or flooding, follow the National Weather Service and local emergency-management guidance.
Toe River Watch is not affiliated with other river outfitters, watershed organizations, environmental organizations, or similarly named groups.
Name clarification
Is Toe River Watch the same as Toe River Valley Watch or the Toe River Watershed Partnership?
No. Toe River Watch is an independent community visual river reporting network operated by Toe River Base Camp. It is not Toe River Valley Watch, the Toe River Watershed Partnership, or an affiliated program of those organizations.

Start with the newest community reports to see what participants recently observed at specific locations. Weather and USGS cards provide separately identified official-source context where available. Always use official warnings and emergency guidance when conditions may be hazardous.
